No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Chapter 537 of the Government Code to create a Federal Medicaid and Reform Waivers Legislative Oversight Committee to facilitate waiver efforts related to the Medicaid program and take certain additional actions. The bill would authorize the committee to request information from the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and utilize existing staff at the Texas Legislative Council (TLC) to conduct its work. Based on information provided by HHSC and TLC, it is assumed that all duties and responsibilities necessary to implement the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing staff and resources.
