No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 254 of the Health and Safety Code to increase the cap on the total administrative penalty that may be imposed against freestanding emergency medical care facilities for violation of certain regulations. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. The Health and Human Services Commission estimates that the bill would increase revenues collected from administrative penalties by $280,000 for the biennium, deposited to Fund 0373, Freestanding Emergency Medical Care Facility Licensing Fund.
