No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Agriculture Code prohibiting a political subdivision from prohibiting a person from raising six or fewer chickens in the boundaries of the political subdivision. The municipality may impose a limit of chickens that is greater than six, a prohibition on poultry breeding, a prohibition on raising or keeping roosters, and the minimum distance between a chicken coop and a residential structure.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
