FROM:
Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1854 by Uresti (Relating to requiring the review of public school district paperwork to limit paperwork requirements.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill requires each campus-level committee to review paperwork requirements imposed on classroom teachers and make recommendations to the district board of trustees not less than once every six months.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2017, or immediately if passed with the necessary voting margins.
Local Government Impact
This bill's provisions require each campus-level committee to prepare a report and make a recommendation to the district board of trustees. TEA estimates these reports can be prepared at nominal cost by most campus-level committees, but some administrative costs may be incurred depending on the report's requirements.
