SB1991 by Watson (Relating to the administration of federal funds under the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to the administration of federal funds under the Cranston-Gonzalez National Affordable Housing Act. Under the provisions of the bill, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs may allocate up to 15 percent of funds required to benefit non-participating small cities and rural areas to participating jurisdictions as necessary to comply with federal law.

The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs indicates the provisions of the bill can be implemented with existing resources.

Local Government Impact

According to the Texas Municipal League, the fiscal impact to municipalities is not anticipated to be significant.
