No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Railroad Commission to conduct a study to evaluate the ability of the agency to fund its operations using fees and to report its findings to the Legislature no later than September 1, 2018.  The Railroad Commission indicates it could absorb any costs associated with the bill within its current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
