No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code relating to a study on the feasibility of using the statewide system of health care data collection to create a public database of charges billed by health care providers. Based on the LBB's analysis of the Department of State Health Services, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources. The bill would take effect September 1, 2017.
