IN RE:
SB2162 by Zaffirini (Relating to a prohibition on the approval by the Railroad Commission of Texas of an application for a permit for a commercial surface disposal facility located near certain reservoirs.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Natural Resources Code to prohibit the Railroad Commission (RRC) from approving an application for a commercial surface disposal facility if any part of the facility is located within a certain distance of a water reservoir project. Based on the analysis of RRC and the Texas Water Development Board, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
