No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Human Resources Code relating to staff-to-child ratios and group sizes in licensed day-care centers and reporting certain information related to child safety. Based on information provided by the Department of Family and Protective Services and the Health and Human Services Commission, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in each house, otherwise the bill would take effect September 1, 2017.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
