Pursuant to a notice posted on November 2, 2017, revised on November 30, 2017, the House Committee on Economic Competitiveness, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cook, at 9:02 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cook; Button; and Moody.

 

The committee met to hear invited testimony on concrete principles on long-term competitiveness and economic development issues. The purpose of the hearing was to show businesses seeking to come to Texas, or that are already located in Texas, the principles that the Texas House believes should guide the state's pursuit of long-term economic growth.
