Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2017, and permission granted on May 18, 2017, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Government Transparency & Operation met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Elkins, at 4:30 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Elkins; Capriglione; Gonzales, Larry; Lucio III; Shaheen; Tinderholt; and Uresti, Tomas.

The chair laid out and explained SB 200.

 

 

The chair moved that SB 200, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 526.

 

 

Representative Shaheen offered a complete committee substitute.

 

 

The chair recognized Representative Capriglione to explain the measure.

 

 

The chair recognized Representative Capriglione to close on the measure.

 

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Representative Shaheen moved that SB 526, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was reported from committee.
