Pursuant to a notice posted on July 25, 2018, the House Committee on Texas Ports, Innovation & Infrastructure, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Deshotel, at 10:04 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Deshotel; Paul; Faircloth; Goldman; Ortega; Phelan; and Rodriguez, Justin.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The Chair delivered opening remarks.

 

The Chair laid out the following charge: Study the benefits and needs of Texas' Inland/Dry Ports. Examine if infrastructure projects which are used to improve intermodal connectivity at inland ports should be included for eligibility in the Texas Mobility Fund or if a new program should be created for that purpose. Determine if dry ports should receive the same benefits as the inland ports. Evaluate if such facilities should have a Foreign Trade Zone designation.

The Chair delivered closing remarks.

 

At 11:12 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
