Pursuant to a notice posted on August 8, 2017, the House Committee on Public Education met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Huberty, at 9:34 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Huberty; Bernal; Allen; Bohac; Deshotel; Gooden; King, Ken; Koop; Meyer; and VanDeaver.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

HB 387

 

The chair laid out HB 387 as pending business.

 

The chair recognized Representative King, Ken to explain HB 387.

 

Representative Bohac moved that HB 387, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Huberty; Bernal; Allen; Bohac; Deshotel; Gooden; King, Ken; Koop; Meyer; VanDeaver (10).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

The chair laid out HB 198 as pending business.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The chair explained the measure.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative King, Ken moved that HB 198, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
