Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 15, 2017, the House Committee on Public Health met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Price, at 5:44 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Price; Sheffield; Arévalo; Burkett; Coleman; Cortez; Guerra; Klick; Oliverson; and Zedler.

SB 315

The chair laid out SB 315, the companion to HB 3040.

Representative Sheffield moved that SB 315, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Price; Sheffield; Arévalo; Burkett; Coleman; Cortez; Guerra; Klick; Oliverson (9).

Nays:                           Representative Zedler (1).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representative Collier (1).

SB 589

The chair laid out SB 589, the companion to HB 26.

Representative Burkett offered a complete committee substitute.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Klick moved that SB 589, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives Price; Sheffield; Arévalo; Burkett; Coleman; Cortez; Guerra; Klick; Oliverson; Zedler (10).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representative Collier (1).

At 5:47 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
