Pursuant to a notice posted on June 13, 2018, the House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Phil, at 12:18 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King, Phil; Nevárez; Burns; Hinojosa, Gina; Johnson, Jarvis; Metcalf; and Schaefer.

The committee met to hear invited and public testimony on the following interim charge:

Evaluate options to increase the number of school marshals available, and identify current statutory requirements that limit utilization of the program.

At 6:13 p.m., on the motion of Representative Schaefer and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
