Pursuant to a notice posted on March 9, 2017, and permission granted on March 14, 2017, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Frullo, at 2:01 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Frullo; Faircloth; Bonnen, Dennis; Fallon; Gervin-Hawkins; and Krause.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

The committee met for organizational purposes and heard testimony from the agencies as follows: Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, and the Texas Music Office.
