Pursuant to a notice posted on July 2, 2018, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Frullo, at 10:08 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Frullo; Faircloth; Bonnen, Dennis; Fallon; Gervin-Hawkins; Krause; and Martinez, "Mando".

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

The hearing was moved to room E2.014 due to technical difficulties and signs were posted on the hearing room doors notifying attendees.

 

The committee met jointly with the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock to consider the following interim charge:

 

Study the effects of declining migratory species, such as the monarch butterfly, as well as native and domesticated bee populations on agricultural production and its economic impact on the state. Identify possible causes of the population changes and monitor national trends. Make recommendations on how to improve and promote monarch butterfly and bee populations and habitats in the state.

At 12:31 p.m., on the motion of Representative Frullo and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
