Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Business & Commerce was held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 11:17 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Senator Hancock made opening remarks. Senator Creighton moved that testimony would be limited to 2 minutes; without objection, it was so ordered.
The chair laid out SB 20 and recognized the author, Senator Taylor, Van, to explain the bill.
Senator Creighton assumed the chair.
Senator Hancock was recognized to discuss an amendment to SB 20, sunset bill, that Senator Van Taylor intends to offer as a floor amendment to SB 20.
Senator Hancock resumed the chair.
Senator Nichols was recognized to discuss an amendment to SB 20, sunset bill, that he intends to offer as a floor amendment to SB 20.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Creighton moved that SB 20 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.

There being no further business, at 11:43 AM Senator Hancock moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
