The chair called the meeting to order at 6:55 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

Senator Van Taylor moved to withdraw the committee substitute, which was discussed at a previous hearing; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Van Taylor sent up a committee substitute.  The chair recognized Senator Buckingham to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the house bill as engrossed.

 

Senator Schwertner moved adoption of the committee substitute for HB 249; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Buckingham moved that HB 249 do not pass but that CSHB 249 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. Senator Miles submitted a motion in writing requesting to be shown voting aye on CSHB 249.
