Pursuant to Rule 1, Texas House Rules and pursuant to Rule 11.03, Texas Senate Rules, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Oversight of Compact Facility was held on Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

Co-chair Senator Brian Birdwell called the meeting to order at 9:01 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called: Representative Brooks Landgraf.

 

Co-chair Representative Joseph Pickett moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

The co-chairs gave opening remarks.

 

Senator Brian Birdwell called invited testimony from the Texas Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission, Andrews County, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Waste Control Specialists, and Advocates for Responsible Disposal in Texas.

 

Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

 

The chair moved that testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 1:10 PM Representative Joseph Pickett moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chairs. Without objection, it was so ordered.
