Pursuant to Rule 1, Texas House Rules and pursuant to Rule 11.03, Texas Senate Rules, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Economic Stabilization Fund Balance, Select was held on Friday, November 30, 2018, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

Co-chair Senator Nelson called the meeting to order at 10:01 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Co-chair Senator Nelson made opening remarks.

Co-chair Representative Davis moved adoption of the committee rules. Without objection, the rules were adopted.

Invited testimony was heard. Witnesses testifying and registering are shown on the attached list.

Co-chair Representative Davis moved to adopt a sufficient balance of the Economic Stabilization Fund at $7.5 billion for the state fiscal biennium beginning September 1, 2019. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

There being no further business, at 10:25 AM Co-chair Senator Nelson moved that the Committee be adjourned. Without objection, it was so ordered.
