Amend CSHB 1 (house committee printing) under the Article XI appropriations to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (page XI-6) by adding the following appropriately designated rider:

____.  Contingent Appropriation: Nurse Loan Repayment Program. Contingent on the enactment and becoming law of HB 3111, SB 2300, or similar legislation of the 86th Legislature, Regular Session, 2019, relating to the authorization of a loan repayment program for nurses who meet the eligibility criteria established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the amount of $2,000,000 is appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2020, and the amount of $2,000,000 is appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for the state fiscal year ending August 31, 2021, for the purpose of implementing the provisions of that legislation.
