Amend HB 3009 (house committee report) as follows:
(1) On page 3, line 17, strike "and".
(2) On page 3, between lines 19 and 20, insert the following:
(C) the foundational texts of American history including:
(i) the Declaration of Independence;
(ii) the United States Constitution;
(iii) the Federalist Papers;
(iv) the Lincoln-Douglas debates; and
(v) On Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville; and
