AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
It has been suggested that the absence of street addresses on polling place location notices may discourage voters from seeking out a polling place if they are new to the county or otherwise unfamiliar with the area. H.B. 1241 seeks to address this issue by requiring a written notice of a polling place location to specify the street address of the polling place and any applicable building name.
H.B. 1241 amends the Election Code to require a written notice of a polling place location to state the building name, if any, and street address of the polling place.
H.B. 1241 amends current law relating to the content of a polling place location notice.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
