AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Tourism public improvement districts (TPIDs) have been an excellent success for the municipalities that have adopted them. Municipalities such as the City of Nacogdoches would also benefit from a tourism public improvement district. H.B. 1417 seeks to authorize certain municipalities to undertake authorized improvements and projects that confer a special benefit on areas that share a common characteristic.

H.B. 1417 amends current law relating to a common characteristic or use project in a public improvement district in certain municipalities.
