AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

There are 24 Council of Governments within Texas and three within SD 31. Current law is unclear on the procedure for a governmental unit to transfer from one regional planning commission to another. HB 2736 addresses the procedural ambiguity by outlining a clear process for transfer.

H.B. 2736 amends current law relating to the authority of a governmental unit that has withdrawn from a regional planning commission to join another regional planning commission.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
