AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
H.B. 3084 amends current law relating to designating July 20 as Space Exploration Day.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, by adding Section 662.071, as follows:
Sec. 662.071. SPACE EXPLORATION DAY. (a) Provides that July 20 is Space Exploration Day in honor of the heroes of Apollo 11 and those who continue to pursue innovation and exploration.
(b) Authorizes Space Exploration Day to be regularly observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities.
SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2019.
