AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

As proposed, S.B. 1461 amends current law relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages on certain property owned by the Texas State Railroad Authority.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1. Amends Subchapter C, Chapter 4501, Special District Local Laws Code, by adding Section 4501.1021, as follows:

Sec. 4501.1021. SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON AUTHORITY PROPERTY. Authorizes the Texas State Railroad Authority (authority) to contract with a person for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages on authority property that is used as a station for passenger rail services.

SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2019.
