A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the requirement that a state agency or political |
|
subdivision with authority to impose a tax post certain information |
|
on an Internet website. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 2051, Government Code, is amended by |
|
adding Subchapter E to read as follows: |
|
SUBCHAPTER E. INTERNET WEBSITE |
|
Sec. 2051.151. APPLICABILITY OF SUBCHAPTER. This |
|
subchapter applies only to a state agency or political subdivision |
|
with the authority to impose a tax. |
|
Sec. 2051.152. INFORMATION REQUIRED ON WEBSITE. (a) A |
|
state agency or political subdivision shall create and maintain a |
|
publicly accessible Internet website with the following |
|
information: |
|
(1) the state agency's or political subdivision's |
|
contact information, including a mailing address, telephone |
|
number, and e-mail address; |
|
(2) each elected officer of the state agency or |
|
political subdivision; |
|
(3) each candidate for an elected office of the state |
|
agency or political subdivision; |
|
(4) the date and location of the next election for |
|
officers of the state agency or political subdivision; |
|
(5) each notice of a meeting under Subchapter C, |
|
Chapter 551; and |
|
(6) each record of a meeting under Subchapter B, |
|
Chapter 551. |
|
(b) A state agency or political subdivision that on |
|
September 1, 2019, maintained an official, publicly accessible |
|
Internet website may provide the information described under |
|
Subsection (a) on that website. |
|
SECTION 2. Sections 2051.152(a)(5) and (6), Government |
|
Code, as added by this Act, apply only to a meeting held on or after |
|
the effective date of this Act. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
