A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the placement of speed limit signs at the end of |
|
construction or maintenance work zones. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 545, Transportation Code, |
|
is amended by adding Section 545.364 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 545.364. SPEED LIMIT SIGNS AFTER CONSTRUCTION OR |
|
MAINTENANCE WORK ZONE. (a) In this section, "construction or |
|
maintenance work zone" has the meaning assigned by Section 472.022. |
|
(b) An entity that sets a lower speed limit on a road or |
|
highway in the state highway system for a construction or |
|
maintenance work zone shall place or require to be placed a sign at |
|
the end of the zone that indicates the speed limit after the zone |
|
ends. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
