A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the designation of polling place locations on the |
|
|
campuses of certain institutions of higher education. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 43, Election Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 43.008 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 43.008. CAMPUS POLLING PLACE. The commissioners court |
|
|
of a county shall designate as a polling place a location on the |
|
|
main campus of an institution of higher education as defined by |
|
|
Section 61.003, Education Code, located within the county if at |
|
|
least 10,000 students are enrolled in the institution. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
