A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring the Texas Workforce Commission to pay the |
|
|
cost of taking a high school equivalency examination for certain |
|
|
individuals. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 315.002, Labor Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) For an individual who is 21 years of age or older, the |
|
|
commission shall pay the cost of taking one complete high school |
|
|
equivalency examination administered under Section 7.111, |
|
|
Education Code, and made available by a test vendor approved and |
|
|
contracted by the State Board of Education, including an |
|
|
examination that is administered in multiple parts. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
