A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the release of deer by certain deer breeding facilities |
|
|
to low-fenced acreage. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter L, Chapter 43, Parks and Wildlife |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 43.3635 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 43.3635. RELEASE BY CERTAIN DEER BREEDING FACILITIES |
|
|
TO LOW-FENCED ACREAGE. (a) A deer breeding facility with the |
|
|
highest status transfer category as determined by commission rule |
|
|
may release breeder deer to a low-fenced site that: |
|
|
(1) includes at least 5,000 acres of contiguous land; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(2) is within 200 miles of the deer breeding facility. |
|
|
(b) The commission shall adopt rules governing a release of |
|
|
breeder deer under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
