A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the equalized wealth level under the public school |
|
|
finance system. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 41.002, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (h) to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) Notwithstanding Subsection (a), in accordance with a |
|
|
determination of the commissioner, the wealth per student that a |
|
|
school district may have after exercising an option under Section |
|
|
41.003 may not be less than the amount needed to maintain state and |
|
|
local revenue per weighted student for maintenance and operation of |
|
|
the district equal to the statewide average amount of state and |
|
|
local revenue per weighted student for maintenance and operation of |
|
|
a district. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
