A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
 
  relating to the amount of the health care services fee paid by
  certain inmates.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 501.063(a)(1), Government Code, is
  amended to read as follows:
         (a)(1)  An inmate confined in a facility operated by or under
  contract with the department, other than a halfway house, who
  initiates a visit to a health care provider shall pay a health care
  services fee to the department in the amount of $15 per visit,
  except that an inmate may not be required to pay more than $100
  during a state fiscal year [$100].
         SECTION 2.  Section 501.063(a)(2), Government Code, is
  repealed.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
