A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the term of a parking permit issued to a residential |
|
|
tenant by a landlord. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 92, Property Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 92.0132 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 92.0132. TERM OF PARKING PERMIT. A landlord who issues |
|
|
a parking permit to a tenant: |
|
|
(1) must issue the permit for a term that is |
|
|
coterminous with the tenant's lease term; and |
|
|
(2) may not terminate or suspend the permit until the |
|
|
date the tenant's lease terminates. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 92.0132, Property Code, as added by this |
|
|
Act, applies to a parking permit issued on or after the effective |
|
|
date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
