A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of the compensatory education allotment for a |
|
|
school district's school guidance and counseling program or |
|
|
counseling or social work services. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 42.152, Education Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (c-6) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c-6) Notwithstanding Subsection (c), funds allocated under |
|
|
this section may be used to fund: |
|
|
(1) a district's school guidance and counseling |
|
|
program under Subchapter A, Chapter 33; or |
|
|
(2) counseling or social work services provided to a |
|
|
district by a licensed social worker, as defined by Section |
|
|
505.002, Occupations Code, or a licensed professional counselor, as |
|
|
defined by Section 503.002, Occupations Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
