A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of paper ballots in countywide polling places. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 43.007, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e-1) A countywide polling place may have paper ballots |
|
|
available for each voter who requests a paper ballot, subject to |
|
|
Subsection (e). The secretary of state may prescribe procedures as |
|
|
necessary to ensure the efficient implementation of this |
|
|
subsection. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
