A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the creation of a disaster case management system by the |
|
|
Texas Division of Emergency Management. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 418, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 418.054 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 418.054. DISASTER CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. (a) The |
|
|
division shall, subject to the availability of funds, contract with |
|
|
a vendor to develop and maintain an electronic disaster case |
|
|
management system. The system may be used for case management |
|
|
during and after a disaster by persons determined by the division. |
|
|
The system may include the capability for persons affected by a |
|
|
disaster to apply for assistance from multiple sources. |
|
|
(b) The division shall adopt rules necessary to implement |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
