A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to grants for community supervision and corrections |
|
|
departments for supervision officer caseload management. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 509, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Section 509.0135 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 509.0135. GRANT FOR CASELOAD MANAGEMENT. The division |
|
|
may award grants to departments to enable the department to obtain |
|
|
the services of a social worker licensed under Chapter 505, |
|
|
Occupations Code, to assist in: |
|
|
(1) reviewing the department's caseload management |
|
|
policies; and |
|
|
(2) revising the policies so that an offender's risk |
|
|
level is considered in determining supervision officer caseloads. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
