A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a website operated by the Public Utility Commission of |
|
|
Texas that enables customers to choose retail electric service |
|
|
plans and providers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 39, Utilities Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 39.113 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 39.113. SERVICE PLAN WEBSITE PROHIBITED. The |
|
|
commission may not operate or contract with another person to |
|
|
operate a website that lists retail electric service plans or |
|
|
providers for the purpose of enabling or assisting a customer's |
|
|
selection of a retail electric service plan or provider. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
