A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the regulation of salvage vehicle dealers. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2302.101, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2302.101. LICENSE REQUIRED FOR SALVAGE VEHICLE DEALER. |
|
|
Unless a person holds a salvage vehicle dealer license issued under |
|
|
this chapter or an independent motor vehicle dealer's general |
|
|
distinguishing number issued under Chapter 503, Transportation |
|
|
Code, the person may not: |
|
|
(1) act as a salvage vehicle dealer or rebuilder; or |
|
|
(2) store or display a motor vehicle as an agent or |
|
|
escrow agent of an insurance company. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
