A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to compensation for election personnel for a primary |
|
|
election. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Section 173.008, Election Code, |
|
|
is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 173.008. [LIMITING] STATE COMPENSATION FOR ELECTION |
|
|
PERSONNEL. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 173.008, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) The compensation paid from state funds to election |
|
|
judges and clerks in a joint primary election must be in an amount |
|
|
that is 25 percent greater than the amount of compensation paid from |
|
|
state funds to election judges and clerks in a separate primary |
|
|
election. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
