A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to school district use of relocatable educational
  facilities.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 11, Education Code, is
  amended by adding Section 11.005 to read as follows:
         Sec. 11.005.  USE OF RELOCATABLE EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES.
  (a) In this section, "relocatable educational facility" has the
  meaning assigned by Section 1202.004, Occupations Code.
         (b)  This section applies only to a school district in which:
               (1)  the district's administrative offices are located
  in a building that is not a relocatable educational facility; and
               (2)  student instruction takes place in a relocatable
  educational facility.
         (c)  A school district subject to this section shall:
               (1)  move the district's administrative offices to a
  relocatable educational facility; and
               (2)  convert the building in which the district's
  administrative offices were located into classrooms for student
  instruction.
         SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2019-2020
  school year.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
  a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
  provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
  Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
  Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
