A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to state lottery advertisement and promotion.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 466, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 466.111 to read as follows:
         Sec. 466.111.  ADVERTISEMENT AND PROMOTION WITH FOR-PROFIT
  BUSINESS. (a) The commission may contract with one or more
  for-profit businesses to advertise or promote the lottery.
         (b)  The name, trademark, logo, or other identifying brand
  feature of a for-profit business with which the commission
  contracts under Subsection (a) may be included in advertisement or
  promotional materials for the lottery.
         SECTION 2.  Section 466.251, Government Code, is amended by
  adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
         (d)  The executive director may sell advertising space on
  lottery tickets. Proceeds from the advertising shall be deposited
  to the state lottery account established under Section 466.355.
  The commission may not accept an advertisement promoting the sale
  of tobacco or alcoholic beverages.
         SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
