A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the elevation of high-speed rail tracks. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 112, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 112.104 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 112.104. ELEVATED HIGH-SPEED RAIL TRACKS. (a) In this |
|
|
section, "high-speed rail" has the meaning assigned by Section |
|
|
112.201. |
|
|
(b) Except as necessary for passenger boarding, high-speed |
|
|
rail tracks must be elevated on pylons to 40 feet or more above the |
|
|
ground to allow for the unrestricted movement of pedestrian and |
|
|
vehicular traffic under the tracks. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
