A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring commissioners court approval of a proposed |
|
|
county road alteration for high-speed rail construction. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 112.057, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A private entity may not begin construction of a |
|
|
high-speed rail project in a county in which the construction would |
|
|
alter a county road unless the alteration is approved by the |
|
|
commissioners court of that county. In this subsection, |
|
|
"high-speed rail" has the meaning assigned by Section 112.201. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
