A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to human trafficking awareness training for members of the |
|
|
legislature. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 301, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subchapter F to read as follows: |
|
|
SUBCHAPTER F. REQUIRED TRAINING |
|
|
Sec. 301.071. REQUIRED HUMAN TRAFFICKING AWARENESS |
|
|
TRAINING. (a) This section applies only if the office of the |
|
|
attorney general provides an online human trafficking awareness |
|
|
video and that video is available to be viewed by a member of the |
|
|
legislature. |
|
|
(b) Each house of the legislature shall require each member |
|
|
of that house to view the training video described by Subsection (a) |
|
|
at least once every two years. |
|
|
(c) The member shall submit to the presiding officer of the |
|
|
applicable house a statement verifying that the member viewed the |
|
|
training video. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
