A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the applicability of certain limitations on the capture |
|
|
and use of biometric identifiers to financial institutions. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 503.001(e), Business & Commerce Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) This section does not apply to [voiceprint data retained
|
|
|
by] a financial institution or an affiliate of a financial |
|
|
institution subject to the requirements of Subtitle A, Title V, |
|
|
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (15 U.S.C. Sections 6801 to 6809)[, as those
|
|
|
terms are defined by 15 U.S.C. Section 6809]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
