A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to grants awarded under the grant program to reduce |
|
|
recidivism, arrest, and incarceration of individuals with mental |
|
|
illness. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 531.0993, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (j) to read as follows: |
|
|
(j) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, |
|
|
the commission may award a grant under this section for the state |
|
|
fiscal year beginning on September 1, 2019, only to a community |
|
|
collaborative in a county with a population of 555,000 or more that |
|
|
is adjacent to a county with a population of 3.3 million or more. |
|
|
This subsection expires August 31, 2020. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2019. |
